Who We Are
Our practice was founded by Dr Alma van der Merwe in 1988. Treatment offered initially only consisted of chemotherapy, but radiotherapy was established when Dr Anna-Marie Visser joined in 1998.
Our Practices
We have practices at two sites: 17 Solway Street in Bellville and the Cape Gate Oncology Centre in Kraaifontein. Although we are situated in these locations, we also make use of radiotherapy units at Panorama, Rondebosch and N1 City and can therefore offer all radiotherapy techniques, as well as brachytherapy.
What We Believe
As a practice we believe in a multidisciplinary approach. Patient cases are therefore often presented at a combined clinic where oncologists, surgeons,gynaecologists, urologists, radiologists, pathologists and social workers are involved. By involving these care partners, the best course of action for each patient can be decided upon.
